Honda’s innovative and interactive Eco Assist technology, encourages the practice of efficient / fuel-saving driving habits. Enhance your fuel efficiency by observing the speedometer background’s response to driving practices. Smooth acceleration and braking will make the meter glow green. Sharp accelerations and stops, that consume extra fuel, will cause the meter to glow blue. In addition, the ECON button helps achieve maximum fuel efficiency in real-world driving situations. When activated, fuel economy is improved by adjusting the performance of the engine transmission, air conditioning and cruise control to conserve fuel even further. The car is full of ideas and innovative technology working together to increase efficiency with better fuel economy and lower CO2 output. One such technology is the electronically 4WD systems. As front wheel drive is the default mode for standard driving conditions, the CR-V's 4wd kicks in when loss of traction caused by wet or slippery surfaces is detected. It cleverly ensures that power is only given to the wheels that need it, being more efficient at the same time as delivering confidence inspiring grip and stability. The 114kW 2.0 i-VTEC petrol engine features Variable Valve Timing and Lift Control for optimized output at high engine rpm, and fuel efficiency at lower rpm. It’s available on 2WD efficiency at lower rpm. It’s available on 2WD powertrains. The 2WD features a 6-speed manual transmission and 5-speed automatic transmission. The 2.4 i-VTEC delivers 140kW on a 4WD powertrain and is available in 5-speed automatic transmission. An impressive 350Nm of torque is available from the all-aluminum, 110kW Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) can adjust your speed to the vehicle in front, keeping you consistently the same distance apart between you and the car ahead. A radar set behind the front grille constantly monitors the gap ahead and controls the distance by automatically adjusting the throttle, or braking if the gap adjusting the throttle, or braking if the gap closes. Should the vehicle ahead increase its distance again, the ACC system brings you back to your pre- set speed Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) uses cameras mounted behind the rear view mirror which constantly senses the line marking on the road. It emits an audible warning if the vehicle drifts off course and automatically corrects the steering to get you back on track, helping you to stay in your lane safety. This however will not work well on surfaces with no road marking like in the village Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) assist your braking by automatically applying an appropriate amount of braking force to help you avoid or minimize the chances of hitting a vehicle ahead of you in traffic. This works in conjunction with the seat belt giving visual and audio warnings for the driver to take preventive action. It can also initiate braking to reduce vehicle speed for your safety. Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD),Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA),Trailer Stability Assist (TSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA),Active Cornering Light (ACL) and Day Time Running Lights (LED) On the Passive Safety the vehicle comes with Driver Dual Stage Airbag Front Active Headrest Side SRS Side Curtain SRS Auto Door Locking Selective Unlocking Honda has been crowned the most reliable car manufacturer for the eighth year in a row, according to research by WhatCar? and Warranty Direct. The Japanese brand has enjoyed Michael Schumacher-like dominance in the poll for almost a decade, after being confirmed top of 38 manufacturers in the latest poll of 50,000 live Warranty Direct policyholders. This is not something which will go down well to many Kenyans who feel and believe other popular brands in the market to be the best yet they have never been voted in other markets. Their VTEC engines have become very famous as they continue to advance them.VTEC stands for Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control. Honda developed this variable valve train system in order to offer efficiency and power in smaller engines. VTEC systems use two camshaft profiles, one for bottom end economy and another for top end performance. The story of the engine has its origins in the 1980s. Back then, Honda was a fairly new car company, building on its reputation as a builder of the CB street bike series. Making a small engine with lots of power was believed to be the key for Honda to crack the global market. Apart from cars they also make robots, motorbikes, power equipments, outboard engines, boats, jets and solar panels.Honda is also the largest engine manufacturer in the world and ranked among the world's top 20 brands For a test drive visit their showroom located on Mombasa Road (opposite Vitafoam)
