Subaru Forester

Subaru Forester's are sold in Kenya by Subaru Kenya, a division of ECTA ( Kenya ) Limited. Their main showroom is based on Mombasa road just opposite Panari Hotel while they are also equipped countrywide for the after sales service on the models they are selling. The Forester comes in different models namely 2.0i with a price tag of 5.25 million,2.0 il premium going for 5.75 million and 2.0 XT going for 7.095 million but this model is supplied on order which is also the most luxurious in the range. All cars are 4 cylinder and 4 stroke petrol engines. These cars comes in nine colours and a guarantee of 2years or 50,000 kilometers whichever comes first. Forester was launched about three months ago in the country and the company has sold over 30 units in the country mostly to county government due to its durability and performance. It's also ideal vehicle for young families, outdoor enthusiasts, professionals, urbanites and former hot hatch owners (who now need more space and practicality). Talking of the 2.0 il premium model which is popular on Kenyan roads, the car a sporty utility vehicle capable of taking you pretty much anywhere including over the most rugged off-road terrain on Kenyan roads. The car is equipped with Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive powered by it's 2.0 litre boxer engine. Symmetry All wheel drive is a technology that started with Subaru's back in 1972 till todate and continues the advancement with the new X-Mode. The signature system maximizes the power delivery with exceptional traction and even greater capability in rough or steep roads and slippery conditions. This technology also makes the car tyres engaged with the road, power is routed to all four tyres all the time in order to maintain the strongest possible connection on the road. The Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) is also fitted to monitor and analyze if the vehicle is following the driver's intended course via an array of sensors. If the vehicle approaches the limits of stability whist cornering or avoiding an obstacle, the All Wheel Drive torque distribution will kick in and engine output and breaks at each wheel are adjusted to assist in Keeping the vehicle on course. Other safety features includes the ring shaped reinforcement frames to strengthen the passenger cabin's roof,doors,pillars and floor. This design helps divert and dissipate impact energy away from the occupants in a collision by use of high strength materials and strategic placements. In event of a head on collision the Subaru Boxer engine and gearbox are designed to absorb the impact and break away from the cabin for your protection. There are front airbags plus front side and curtain SRS airbag. Also a driver's side knee airbag greatly increases protection of the lower extremities in frontal impacts. In a nutshell the all new subaru forester has been awarded the maximum five star safety rating in the latest round of European New Car Assessment Programme safety performance tests (Euro NCAP) Other features include auto-on/off headlamps,headlamp washers,fog lamps,automatic rain sensing windshield wipers,door mirrors with built in LED turn signal,Aluminum pedals,Alloy wheels,4 way steering column,Keyless access with push button start system,dual zone automatic air conditioning system,three 12v power outlets,8 way power adjustable front seats,power glass sunroof,one touch rear seats folding switches and retractable cargo cover. Entertainment comes from Harman/Kardon audio system with 8 speakers on board producing 440 watts.On the system there is also a digital device connectivity input jack just to name afew Fuel capacity is 60 litres,Acceleration 0-100 in 11. seconds with it's lineartronic gearbox.The fuel consumption is not bad considering the size of the engine with is Urban 11.8 litres for a hundred kms and extra urban 6.3 litres or out of town for a hundred kilometres.
