The Subaru Legacy saloon has arrived in the country comes only in the 2.0i boxer engine at Subaru Kenya.Other Models like the 2.5i sports and the turbo version are available only on order.This saloon is not disappointing at all since it come with the usual Subaru specs.The car is equipped with Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive powered by it's 2.0 litre boxer engine.Symmetry All wheel drive is a technology that started with subarus back in 1972 till todate and continues the advancement.Symmetry gives you balance and the balance gives you control.Matched with the boxer engine it maximizes the power delivery with exceptional traction and generates balance and stability for total control in almost any condition.In bad weather the symmetrical drivetrain provides stability,agility and traction that help you step around danger.The legacy drives with a unique sense of spirit.The horizontally opposed engine boasts a lower,flatter profile than other engine types.This gives the entire car a lower centre of gravity for balanced handling to match its smooth torque rich power.The engine's flat design is inherently rigid and self balancing generating less vibration than V type or inline engines for more durability and more reliable performance. Legacy elevates the inhelent advantages of it's signature layout balance,composure and response with the Subaru Dynamics Chassis Control Concept.The body uses high tensile steel in critical areas to achieve high strength and light weight.A highly rigid cradle mount front end structure delivers an accurate,natural steering feel whilst allowing the engine and suspesion to be effectively isolated from the cabin for a smoother,quieter ride.The result is evrything that makes driving a pleasure.The strut type front suspension features a highly rigid cradle mount system,a wide tread and long wheel travel.The rear suspension balances a sporty handling with refinement. The double wishbone in the rear handles rough roads and sharp corners with poise and precision. Pillow ball bushings for more comfort are also added. On the safety side of it,the car has standard 4 wheel disk brakes feature light weight aluminum rear calipers and a strong reassuring brake feel.The anti lock braking system includes electronic brake force distribution to reapportion front/rear braking pressure when the vehicle is loaded.To ensure maximum braking during an emergency,the car features both brake assist and brake override.There is also hill holder that helps prevent rollback when starting off on a 5% or steeper grade by applying the electronic parking brake and automatically releasing it once you are underway.Vehicle dynamics control system are standard in all legacy models which monitors and analyses if the vehicle is following the driver's intended course.The car cabin has been reinforced using ring shaped reinforcement frames for maximum protection incase of a rollover.Srs airbags at the front,side and knee airbags are part of it's safety features.During a head on collision the engine and gearbox are designed to absorb the impact and break away from the cabin for your protection.Legacy boasts a high level of pedestrian protection.Shock absorbing space between the bonnet and engine helps to reduce pedestrian injury in an accident,so do an energy absorbing front bumper and a specially designed area around the windshield bonnet.
